Global creative and integrated agency Octagon has named Guy Futcher as its new executive creative director of Octagon APAC, according to a statement by the agency. He will report to Joanne Warnes, managing director of Octagon APAC.
In his new role, Futcher will lead all creative development, production, planning, and strategy for Octagon’s accounts in the region. He will be based in Octagon’s Singapore office.

Additionally, Futcher will oversee Octagon’s Creative Studio, the agency’s full-service production division specialising in branded entertainment and content.
Prior to joining Octagon, Futcher served as regional creative director at VCCP Singapore, leading local, national, and regional creative projects for brands such as Shell and Cathay Pacific, among others. Prior to that, he was executive creative director at VMLY&R, a role which he held for just under two years.
An experienced marketer, Futcher also helmed roles in M&C Saatchi Australia and Leo Burnett in his career. At Leo Burnett, Futcher worked with clients such as McDonald's, Kellogg's, eBay, Samsung and more.
“For years I’ve wanted to expand my creative experience in the sports and entertainment world. To have the opportunity to do so with Octagon’s team, is beyond exciting,” said Futcher. “With the chance to utilise new tech, create change at scale, and deepen connections everywhere, I feel like all my footy finals have come at once,” he said.
“As we look to continue to strengthen our Octagon APAC team, we are thrilled to appoint Futcher as executive creative director in the region,” said Warnes. “Futcher will continue to evolve our creative offering and further establish our services and the campaigns we create for our clients with his rich experience and knowledge.”
