Newly launched K Mall turns Lunar New Year into a multi-sensory brand experience

As Lunar New Year approaches, K Mall at Menara Jakarta is positioning itself as more than a shopping destination, rolling out a series of culture-led activations alongside the launch of a new immersive digital attraction. Branded under the theme “A season of prosperity and joy,” the programme runs from late January through February 2026.
The holiday campaign brings together cultural exhibitions, live performances, wellness activities, and family-oriented entertainment, reinforcing K Mall’s identity as an open-concept lifestyle hub rather than a conventional retail centre.
One of the centrepieces of the programme is the Museum IP Man Wing Chun Exhibition by Wing Chun Friendship, which runs from 23 January to 22 February 2026. The exhibition presents the legacy of Grandmaster IP Man through educational and visual installations, offering visitors an immersive cultural experience rooted in martial arts philosophy and history.

The festive atmosphere is further animated through live programming, including a musical performance by Miladomus Music School on 31 January 2026, as well as Barongsai performances on 24, 25, and 31 January. Community figures Koko Cici Jakarta will take the main stage on 7 February, while Yayasan Bodhi Meditation will host sessions on 7 and 8 February, introducing visitors to the benefits of meditation as part of the season’s reflective spirit.
The celebrations culminate with the Fu Lu Shu Parade & Lantern Performance, staged on 14, 15, and 17 February 2026, with two shows daily. Featuring symbolic representations of happiness, prosperity, and longevity, the parade is designed to deliver high-impact visuals while anchoring the festivities in traditional meaning.
From a commercial standpoint, K Mall is also tying the season to member engagement. ASRI Living members can participate in the Lunar Spin Rewards programme, which offers shopping vouchers of up to IDR 250,000 (US$14.9) with a minimum spend of IDR 500,000 (US$29.8) – a tactical incentive aimed at driving footfall and basket size during the festive period.
The Lunar New Year programme builds on the mall’s broader positioning following its official opening in November 2025. Developed by ASRI and located within the integrated Menara Jakarta complex in Kemayoran, K Mall was conceived around the “Tree of life” philosophy, blending retail, art, and community spaces within a mixed-use ecosystem of residences, offices, hotels, and lifestyle venues.
“K Mall was created not merely as a shopping centre, but as a centre of life. We aim to offer a space that nurtures interaction, creativity, and togetherness. Like a tree that gives life, K Mall is expected to grow into a symbol of new energy for Kemayoran,” said Alexander Kusuma, CEO of ASRI.

The experiential push extends beyond seasonal programming. K Mall has also introduced PORTAL, an immersive digital attraction developed by DF Experiences in collaboration with NETASIA, marking a first-of-its-kind concept in Indonesia. Designed as a large-scale walk-through environment, PORTAL combines cinematic digital visuals, spatial design, and interactive storytelling, allowing visitors to navigate a 360-degree virtual world without the use of conventional VR headsets.
Unlike traditional virtual reality attractions, the PORTAL experience is built to be intuitive and accessible across age groups, blending physical movement with digital simulation. Its inaugural theme, “The element code,” places visitors in a futuristic narrative set in the year 2050, delivering a multi-sensory journey that merges sight, sound, and motion.
Beyond digital immersion, the attraction also serves as a cultural platform, showcasing curated works from Indonesian artisans – from clay crafts originating in Salatiga to embroidery from Semarang. A dedicated snack bar offers traditional health drinks alongside locally made crafts, reinforcing the link between technology, storytelling, and cultural preservation.
Tickets are priced at IDR 180,800 (US$10.8) on weekdays and IDR 198,800 (US$11.8) on weekends, with a 20% early-bird discount available for bookings made from 8 February 2026.
