Tune Talk and Astro pick m/SIX to lead media duties

Malaysia's telco Tune Talk has appointed m/SIX Group as its agency for media duties. According to Joseph Lim, CMO for Tune Talk, the agency's DNA and challenger spirit is "the perfect fit for Tune Talk" as it matches the company's ambition to innovate and disrupt the industry. "The agency's strength in cross clientele synergies and data-driven insights was a major reason for our decision,” he explained. A+M understands the two have also worked together in the past. 

Launched in August 2019, Tune Talk aims to offer low, flat-calling rates and incentives to under-served segments of the market, providing easy accessibility and a wide distribution reach for its products. The brand claims to boast 1.5 million active subscribers and aspires to become the next ASEAN mobile virtual network operator. 

Also returning to m/SIX is also Astro Radio Malaysia, which appointed the agency for its media strategy, planning and buying duties for the upcoming Astro Radio Survey campaign. Kenny Ong, CEO of Astro Radio said that the agency's demonstration of consumer insights, behaviours, and the "changing trends in the music consumption" were key reasons for the appointment on this campaign, he said. 

"We are looking forward to this partnership driving growth and brand love. It is exciting for like-minded brands to be working together", said Sheila Shanmugam, managing director of m/SIX Malaysia. Emphasising on the #Cannotalsocan spirit, the company aims to go "further and push the boundaries with the sole objective of delivering results" for clients, she added. 

The agency has also had a new addition to its team with Norshiha Mohd Tahir who rejoined the team as business director. With over 14 years of advertising experience under her belt, and having worked with some of the biggest local and global clients such as Astro, Malaysia Airlines, Tune Talk, F&N Creameries and DRB Hicom, Norshiha brings with her the same attitude and passion for brands that will drive the growth for the team and the business", said Shanmugam.

Recently, the agency has built up its portfolio of business wins over the last few months. It works with companies such as the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), and  Lalamove. It has also been developing solutions for SMEs, working with the likes of Sunquick and Vettons.
