Fransiska Dwi Melani, the director of Indonesian concert promoter Melani Citra Permata, better known as Mecimapro, has been named a suspect and detained by the Jakarta Police over alleged embezzlement of investor funds related to the 2023 TWICE concert in Jakarta.
Melani was officially detained on 9 September 2025 following a police investigation into a report filed by concert investor Media Inspirasi Bangsa (MIB) on 10 January 2025, accusing her of misappropriating part of the event’s financing. The Jakarta Police said her detention later extended from 29 September to 7 November 2025 as the investigation continues.
According to senior adjutant commissioner Reonald Simanjuntak, head of the public information subdivision at the Jakarta Police, the investor was enticed by the promise of a 23% return on an initial investment of IDR 10 billion (US$598,000), but to this day, neither the promised profit nor the capital has been returned.

The incident adds to a turbulent year for the promoter, which is also facing fan refund issues from the postponed DAY6 3rd World Tour: Forever Young in Jakarta 2025.
MIB’s legal representative, Aldi Rizki, confirmed that attempts were made to resolve the matter privately before legal action was taken. He said his team had issued multiple demand letters to Mecimapro requesting the return of funds and cancellation of the financing agreement, but no response was received.
Mecimapro has yet to issue a public statement regarding the matter.
Simanjuntak added that the case is currently at stage one of prosecution, with the police having submitted case files to the prosecutor’s office. He added that the case is expected to reach completion in the near future, advancing to the stage when it is deemed ready for trial.
If found guilty, Melani could face charges under Articles 378 and 372 of the Indonesian Criminal Code for fraud and embezzlement.
Behind the high-profile case, Melani is no stranger to Indonesia’s entertainment industry. As the head of Mecimapro - one of the country’s leading K-pop concert promoters - she has played a key role in bringing top South Korean acts to Indonesian stages for over a decade.
A law graduate from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, Melani began her career as a legal practitioner at Bahar & Partners and later at Makarim & Taira S before shifting into entertainment. She also studied Korean Literature at Yonsei University and pursued a business programme at Harvard.
In May 2025, the DAY6 3rd World Tour: Forever Young in Jakarta drew heavy criticism after fans faced poor crowd management, delays, and chaotic conditions. Promoter Mecimapro was slammed for a last-minute venue change, unclear seating arrangements, refund disputes, and inadequate shelter during a storm that caused tents to collapse. The event trended on social media with over 177,000 mentions as attendees shared videos of the disorganised scene.
Mecimapro has previously organised major concerts in Indonesia, including Super Junior World Tour - Super Show 9 (2022), SEVENTEEN World Tour [Be The Sun] (2022), and ENHYPEN World Tour “Fate Plus” (2024).
