McCann Worldgroup China has appointed Emily Chang as CEO.

Replacing incumbent CEO, Ronald Sun, who is stepping down after three years in the role, Chang is a seasoned marketer with 20 years of experience in business strategy, cross-cultural team leadership, change management, customer experience and brand building.

She held management positions in previous jobs, joining the ad industry from her previous client-side roles as SVP of marketing at Starbucks in the US, CMO at Starbucks China, CCO at IHG, and head of Asia retail marketing at Apple in Shanghai. Chang also spent 11 years with P&G working across all three of their global business units.

"I’m thrilled to join McCann Worldgroup China. During my time at Apple, IHG and Starbucks, I’ve seen what’s possible when we place creativity and innovation at the centre of all that we do," said Chang.

"This role provides the perfect opportunity to craft what I believe customers demand today: delightful, integrated customer experiences that seamlessly merge online and offline elements," she added.

Commenting on this appointment, Alex Lubar, president of McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific, said, "Chang has an exceptional yet vibrant track record of building integrated teams and executing cross-platform programmes that put customers at the centre of the experience. This is precisely what our clients are looking for in the ever-evolving Chinese marketing ecosystem."
