Maybelline New York picks electronic music DJ Peggy Gou as global ambassador

Cosmetics brand Maybelline New York has appointed electronic music DJ Peggy Gou as its newest global ambassador. 

Gou is a South Korean DJ and producer who has been a trailblazing force in music for years. She achieved mainstream recognition with the release of her hit song (It Goes Like) Nanana in 2023. 

As Maybelline New York's ambassador, Gou will front the brand's upcoming product and brand campaigns, as well as inspire fans to embrace their individuality and express themselves through makeup.

The collaboration will kick off with Gou lending her spin to Maybelline's cult favourite SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick range, known for its 16-hour lasting formula.

According to a statement by Maybelline New York, Gou's energetic performances and trendsetting style have garnered her a massive global following. Her fans not only connect with her music but also admire her authentic and creative approach to beauty.

"Maybelline New York is thrilled to welcome Peggy Gou as our newest ambassador," said Trisha Ayyagari, global brand president, Maybelline New York.

"Gou is the hottest DJ in the world and her songs are everyone's summer soundtrack. Gou is not the only South Korean personality with a hot new ambassadorship opportunity. 

Earlier in May, luxury brand Burberry tapped South Korean actor Son Suk-ku as its brand ambassador.

The actor announced his new role on Instagram where he posted three black and white photos of himself alongside the caption "Nice to meet you, Burberry." 

Son is the latest member of Burberry's global community, joining other Asian ambassadors such as Tang Wei, Chen Kun and more.
