Mandai Wildlife Group has appointed DSTNCT as its social media agency after a pitching process. The agency will be managing the social media needs for all four parks under Mandai Wildlife Group; Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, River Wonders and Singapore Zoo. A part of its responsibility also includes providing expanded services such as digital, social media strategy and consultancy, media management and analytics.

DSTNCT will be taking over the account from KRDS, which has been on retainer for social media since 2016. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to DSNTCT for additional statements.

Chloe Lim, account director of DSTNCT, said: “We are extremely humbled and honoured with this win and are looking forward to an exciting partnership with Mandai. We can’t wait to apply our expertise to further position Mandai as a leading wildlife and nature destination for locals and tourists alike, while also nurturing the next generation of wildlife warriors,” she added.

The pitch was initially called in April this year. Mandai Wildlife Group, formerly known as Wildlife Reserves Singapore, had shared in the tender documents that the appointment was for a period of a year, with the option to extend for another. The Group currently works with The Secret Little Agency and Spark Foundry for creative and media duties respectively. The agencies will not be impacted during the pitch.

Other accounts under the agency’s repertoire include National Youth Council, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Starbucks and Singapore Art Week. The agency also recently bagged a total of six awards at the 2020 Marketing Excellence Awards and 2021 PR Awards by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE for its campaigns with the National Youth Council, AIA Singapore and Plaza Singapura.

Previously, DSTNCT was a part of Gushcloud Marketing Group. However, the two parted ways in 2020 after both businesses were said to have “become better positioned in their respective industries, more profitable, efficient and primed for growth”. The statement elaborated that the move allows DSTNCT to be “independent and chart its own path in the digital consultancy” industry.
