Mamamia appoints Luca Lavigne as CEO

Mamamia has appointed chief operating and product officer Luca Lavigne as its next CEO, succeeding Natalie Harvey following her move to Southern Cross Media Group.

Lavigne, the son of Mamamia co-founders Mia Freedman and Jason Lavigne, has worked at the independent media company for more than a decade, most recently serving as chief operating and chief product officer.

He takes over the role after helping lead Mamamia's transition to a dual advertising and subscriber model, while overseeing the expansion of its podcast network and video strategy.

Harvey, who joined Mamamia as chief revenue officer in early 2024 before being promoted to CEO, will leave the business in September to take up the newly created chief revenue officer role at SCA.

In a statement, Lavigne thanked Harvey for her leadership during a period of significant change for the business.

Harvey said the decision to leave had been difficult and described Lavigne as "deeply experienced" in the business after working closely with him throughout her tenure.

The leadership transition follows several recent senior appointments at Mamamia, including Lanai Wiadrowski as national sales director and Danni Wright as director of strategy and partnerships.
