Southern Cross Media Group has appointed Mamamia CEO Natalie Harvey as its inaugural chief revenue officer, bolstering its commercial leadership as the broadcaster sharpens its focus on digital growth.
Harvey will join SCA in September, reporting directly to managing director and CEO Rohan Lund. The newly created role forms part of a streamlined operating model designed to accelerate growth opportunities across the business and bring greater focus to its national commercial strategy.
The appointment also signals the departure of chief commercial officer Seb Rennie, who has led SCA's audio sales business since joining the company in 2023. SCA said Rennie had played a key role in strengthening the company's commercial capability and agency relationships during a period of transformation.
Harvey leaves Mamamia after more than two years as CEO, having first joined the publisher as chief revenue officer in January 2024. Before that, Harvey was national sales director at Seven West Media and previously spent more than nine years at UM Australia, where she rose to general manager.
At SCA, Harvey will oversee commercial strategy across the company's national portfolio, with responsibility for premium revenue growth, business development and strengthening relationships with agencies and advertisers.
Lund said Harvey's experience across publishing, television, audio and agencies made her well placed to lead the company's next phase of commercial growth.
“There is some fantastic momentum across the group right now and an enormous opportunity once we bring together the power of the combined group in content and advertising,” Lund said.
“As we evolve our operating model to bring decision-making closer to our products and customers, creating the chief revenue officer role ensures we have single-minded leadership over our national commercial strategy.”
Harvey said the opportunity to combine SCA's portfolio of brands with a clear commercial vision was a key attraction.
“I'm thrilled to be joining SCA at such an exciting time,” she said.
“What really excites me about the role is the combination of trusted brands, talented people and a clear ambition for the future.”
