Issarisa Khamswas returns to OMD Thailand as head of strategy

OMD Thailand has appointed Issarisa Khamswas as head of strategy. In this newly-created role, Khamswas (pictured) will be leading the agency on its overall strategic delivery across all clients. She is responsible for developing insights-based strategy in OMD's client solutions and elevating the agency's strategy agenda.

She will also be leading the on-ground development of the agency’s new end-to-end planning process, OMD Design, and lead its development in line with requirements of Thailand-based advertisers. Khamswas will be reporting to Roxanne Somboonsiri, OMD Thailand’s managing director, and also working closely with Gavin Gibson, OMD’s chief strategy officer for Asia Pacific.

According to her LinkedIn, Khamswas was previously with OMD from 2013 to 2018, before joining Nestlé as digital marketing manager and aCommerce- an eCommerce service provider- as head of marketing planning and strategy. She joined OMD as a senior media planner, and subsequently helmed different roles as she got promoted to media planning manager, digital planning manager, senior digital manager, and finally associate digital director. In a statement to Marketing, a spokesperson from OMD said that Khamswas is currently driving strategy excellence on the Beiersdorf and Boehringer Ingelheim accounts.

"I am excited to return to the agency at such an exciting time for the network and our industry, working with the latest tools and resources to make our clients’ communications more effective than ever," Khamswas said.

Somboonsiri said she is delighted to have Khamswas back onboard to lead on its strategic product. She added that Khamswas will ensure OMD "unlocks its full potential" of its latest capabilities and OMD Design, to aid clients in making better decisions that will yield stronger business outcomes. Somboonsiri was appointed as managing director of OMD Thailand in September 2019. In her current role, she is responsible for enhancing the agency’s offering in Thailand, allowing clients to future-proof their organisations and communication strategies.
