Omnicom Media Group’s agency OMD Thailand has appointed Roxanne Somboonsiri (pictured) as managing director of the agency, effective 23 September. She was most recently the global business manager for Asia Pacific and the Middle East at Facebook.
In her new role, Somboonsiri will leverage her strong digital background to enhance the agency’s offering in Thailand, allowing clients to future-proof their organisations and communication strategies. She brings over 15 years of experience, with the majority spent working in Silicon Valley across a portfolio of brands in the tech, auto, consumer packaged goods, and media sectors.
According to a press release, she has held roles spanning marketing, sales, executive client management and strategy. Somboonsiri’s expertise lies in developing go-to-market strategies and shaping culture in the corporate workplace. “Having worked on the publishing side, OMD has always stood out for its unwavering focus on delivering real business results for its clients from their media investments,” she said.
Meanwhile, OMD APAC CEO Stephen Li said Somboonsiri “ticks all the boxes” with her rich Silicon-Valley experience and international perspectives. He explained: “We were looking for an non-traditional candidate to take the OMD offering in Thailand to the next level, so that our clients can take a better and faster grasp of the digital transformation sweeping through the country.”
