IPG Mediabrands Malaysia has appointed Adrian Cheah (pictured) to the newly-created role of client service director for Society. He reports to MD Stanley Clement. In his new role, Cheah will be looking at growing the business for Society with its creative offering.
Prior to his new role, Cheah was the GM at Pegasus Films for over a year, according to his LinkedIn. Before his stint at Pegasus Films, Cheah was the client service director at BBDO for more than a year, where he worked across all brands within BBDO and Proximity Malaysia to raise the bar in client management and relationships.
Cheah also worked at Geometry Global as a group account director for over a year, during which he was the integrated team leader for Tiger Beer in Malaysia. As the integrated team leader, he was responsible for planning and executing campaigns through activation, public relations, digital and social. Additionally, he also led brand campaigns for companies such as Castrol, URC Snack Foods, Strongbow, Kilkenny, Ford and Hyundai.
Previously, Cheah also worked at J. Walter Thompson Kuala Lumpur for over two years, with his last role being account director. In that role, he assisted the digital and PR/sports marketing arm XM-JWT and PRISM on organic growth and new business opportunities in Malaysia. He was also the lead for brands such as Nokia, Ford Motor Company, Shell Lubricants Malaysia and HSBC retail banking. Prior to that, he was the associate account director and senior account manager at JWT Kuala Lumpur. Cheah also worked at Euro RSCG as an account manager and Grey Group as an account executive.
In August, IPG Mediabrands Malaysia appointed Anwer Khan as general manager for BPN. The move served to strengthen the core BPN leadership team under managing director Darren Yuen and client services director, Vicky Tam. Prior to the appointment, Khan was business director at Carat Malaysia.
Earlier this month, the agency appointed Simon Talvard-Balland to the newly created role of head of digital solutions APAC for the digital performance and experience marketing agency Reprise. Based in Singapore, Talvard-Balland will report to Scott McBride, chief digital officer IPG Mediabrands APAC.
