IPG Mediabrands APAC COO to depart, replacement yet to be named

IPG Mediabrands' Asia Pacific COO, Reg Davidson (pictured), will be leaving the company in the next few months. An agency spokesperson confirmed the move to Marketing and revealed that a replacement has yet to be named. The spokesperson added that the agency is currently in the process of finding a replacement within the next few months."It is Reg Davidson’s intent that he and his wife move back to Australia, so he will be transitioning out of his current role in the next few months," the IPG Mediabrands' spokesperson said in a statement to Marketing.Davidson was appointed Asia Pacific COO and CFO last year and has been working closely with regional CEO, Leigh Terry, to streamline agency operations and optimise the agency's financial performance. Prior to his current appointment, Davidson was CFO of IPG Mediabrands Australia for over 13 years. He has also worked in the same capacity across London and Hong Kong. Over the past 11 years, Davidson helped the agency develop its business from traditional media services to a broad suite of specialised communications services.IPG Mediabrands has also made a few senior appointments in the last year, with the most recent being the promotion of Jacky Tang to COO in China. In 2016, the agency also appointed Matt Scotton as regional chief strategy officer from the network’s Australian office. He took over from Natalie Pidgeon who moves into a part-time role. David Haddad was also named the MD of Mediabrands Singapore last year, taking over from Pat Lim who left the role after five years. Last year, the agency also appointed Leigh Terry as CEO of IPG Mediabrands in Asia Pacific.
