HTC has confirmed to Advertising + Marketing that it has appointed ROOTS Asia Pacific as its PR agency in Malaysia. The agency has been working with HTC for more than seven years.
The appointment comes following a pitch and is for a year. According to a spokesperson at HTC the agency was appointed as it “deeply understands the brand story and the brand’s needs”.
“On top of actively engaging the media, our customers and stakeholders proactively, the agency ensures our stories are out where it matters,” said the spokesperson. In Singapore the brand re-appointed Epic PR as its PR agency of record in Singapore for the whole of 2015.
In an earlier conversation with Advertising + Marketing, Manu Seth, marketing for South Asia for HTC added that Malaysia is a priority market for the brand and having localised brand messages in the market is vital for the success of the brand. He also elaborated that localised PR content is a push for HTC’s marketing strategy in Malaysia. Seth currently heads the marketing arm in India along with markets such as Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
Meanwhile, HTC Corporation also appointed Faisal Siddiqui, former VP and head of India for HTC, as the new regional president of South Asia. The South Asia region includes India, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and emerging markets in Asia.
