HK Disneyland celebrates 20 years with day-to-night magical party

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) is launching a year-long campaign titled “The most magical party of all”, starting 28 June. 

To kick off the campaign, HKDL will launch a new anniversary-exclusive show, "Disney friends live: Party at the castle!". It will feature Mickey and Friends, Duffy and Friends, and Disney Princesses Aurora, Tiana, and Belle in their exclusive outfits. Set against the Castle of Magical Dreams, the 15-minute concert aims to immerse guests in a festive atmosphere with the upbeat anniversary anthem, two original songs, and visuals.

As part of the campaign, HKDL will launch a 30-minute “Friendtastic!” parade, featuring 11 floats and over 100 performers, including more than 30 Disney characters. Mickey and Friends will lead the parade, which includes floats themed around films such as Zootopia, Big Hero 6, and Encanto.

Mickey, Duffy, and the Princesses will also debut new outfits, and the Encanto float will feature dancing tiles and glowing doors. The parade will also feature appearances by Red Panda Mei, Isabela, and Officer Clawhauser. With colourful costumes and original songs, the parade aims to highlight HKDL’s unique offerings.

Disneyland's daily “Momentous: Party in the night sky!” show, spanning from the Castle of Magical Dreams to Main Street, US, will feature eight multimedia elements, such as 3D projection mapping, drones, lasers, and pyrotechnics for the first time to celebrate the special occasion. 

This 20th-anniversary edition offers nearly 30 minutes of music and memorable moments with various Disney characters, including the Three Good Fairies and friends from The Princess and the Frog. The show begins with the Fairy Godmother prompting Mickey to host the party, revealing a glowing “2” and Mickey head, which forms the 20th anniversary logo.

To further engage with the visitors, HKDL and its resort hotels are offering 80 new food and beverage items, along with limited-time 20th anniversary collections. The initial launch also features over 300 exclusive items across six major collections, free digital party photos, and 20th anniversary magical party room pack.

To promote the campaign, HKDL hosted a pre-party event, inviting over 500 media representatives, Disney fans, and influencers, including YouTubers and TikTok creators from Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and US. Additionally, 300 selected Magic Access Members enjoyed a sneak peek of the 20th anniversary themed entertainment and offerings.

Recently, HKDL is actively searching for the next ambassadors as existing ambassadors Gisele Abejero and Beyan Tse are stepping down by the end of this year.

This comes as Abejero and Tse's two-year term is coming to an end this year. The 2026-2027 HKDL ambassador programme is now open for applications until 19 May. All eligible full-time cast members and Imagineers with at least two years of work experience at HKDL and fluency in Cantonese or English are invited to apply. Candidates are required to have passion, a positive attitude, and a willingness to embrace new challenges.
