Government agencies on the hunt for social media partners

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has launched a public tender for a social media agency. According to Gebiz, the appointed agency will provide content and campaign management services. Following a pitch in April 2015, Dentsu Singapore was appointed as the agency of record for CAAS and was tasked handle its integrated media and creative campaigns.

Meanwhile EDB is also on the hunt for a social media and digital agency for a period of one year with an option to extend for two. The agency will be working under the Contact SG umbrella. The contract is slated to start from January 2017.  Meanwhile, Jurong Town Corporation is also looking for an event agency and a social media publicity plan for The Oval @ Seletar Aerospace Park.

The move follows a recent slew of government tenders which saw various government bodies on the hunt for social media partners. This includes People’s Association (PA), Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the Public Utilities Board.

PA recently concluded its search, appointing GroupM’s Vocanic. The agency will lead pivotal social media campaigns surrounding the themes of social cohesion and racial harmony for People’s Association. This will be done jointly with GroupM and its Central Media Services (CMS) division.

Meanwhile, IMDA (which initially tendered as Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore) was on the lookout for social media consultancy services, according to the tender document. According to the GeBiz portal, this appointment would be for a period of three years, with an option to renew each year.
