Ampersand Advisory has appointed Eileen Bakri (pictured) as head of public relations in Singapore, as the integrated marketing and communications consultancy looks to deepen its presence in the market.
In her new role, Bakri will be tasked with building out Ampersand Advisory's PR capabilities in Singapore and supporting the agency's plans to grow its client roster in the market.
Bakri brings more than 15 years of experience across agency and in-house communications roles. Prior to joining Ampersand Advisory, she held in-house positions at Resorts World Sentosa and the Singapore Environment Council, alongside experience at international PR agencies.

Throughout her career, she has worked across sectors including financial services, tourism and hospitality, sustainability and technology. Her client experience includes Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking, Pictet, DWS and COURTS Singapore.
Speaking on the appointment, Sandeep Joseph, CEO and co-founder of Ampersand Advisory, said Bakri's combination of agency and in-house experience, as well as her understanding of the financial, sustainability and communications landscape, would support the agency as it builds its capabilities in Singapore.
"Her appointment marks an important step in growing our presence in the market as we continue to deliver meaningful work for our clients," he said, adding that the agency is looking to grow its client roster in Singapore.
Bakri added that communications today require "fresh thinking, strong counsel and a clear understanding of which media has influence and what actually matters to audiences".
"I look forward to working with Joseph and the team to bring new perspectives, ideas and novel executions for our clients," she said.
Bakri's appointment builds on Ampersand Advisory's recent efforts to strengthen its senior bench across the region. Last year, the consultancy appointed Mawarni Adam as senior consultant, following her stint leading strategic brand management at Toyota Malaysia.
Prior to moving agency-side, Mawarni spent much of her career on the client side, with experience spanning technology startups and SMEs. At the time of her appointment, she said the experience had given her an understanding of the internal and external challenges businesses face and how these can affect their foundations for growth.
