Gov.sg and Hogarth Worldwide are ringing in the festive season with “Blockbuster Deepavali”, a music video that’s all about lights, music and giving back.
Set against the backdrop of Singapore’s SG60 celebrations, the video shines a spotlight on community spirit, showing how everyone can brighten lives this Deepavali, including through the Community Chest SGSHARE Programme.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker S S Vikneshwaran Subramaniam, the story follows Jaynesh Isuan, Nisha Kumar, and Preihan Dinesh as they prep for Deepavali. The community hero and father, Kathir Kanth (Jaynesh), dreams of decking out his home with an epic light display. But as the story unfolds, it’s the community coming together that truly lights up the festival.

Adding to the cheer is the catchy, original track Dinga Dinga Dali by award-winning composer Shabir Sulthan. Viewers are encouraged to join in by learning the hook dance and sharing their moves on Instagram and TikTok with #BlockbusterDeepaval, with a chance to be featured on gov.sg.
Mark Wong, CEO APAC of Hogarth Worldwide, said “This Deepavali music video reminds us that the brightest glow arises from a community united in spreading kindness and uplifting one another.”
“Blockbuster Deepavali” is streaming on gov.sg social channels from 7 October and airing on Mediacorp Vasantham from 9 to 26 October.
Gov.sg leaned into a similar strategy for Hari Raya this year. In celebration of the festive period, Gov.sg unveiled “Sehati di Aidilfitri” ('Together as one this Aidilfitri'), a music video that aims to spur audiences to contribute to the Community Chest SGShare Programme, in conjunction with Hari Raya and the SG60 celebrations.
Central to the campaign is a music video directed by Peggy Goh from Freeflow Productions. It stars veteran actress Siti Khalijah as a character named Siti and Haizad Imran as her love interest. Similarly, the narrative of the music video focuses on the theme of giving and community bonding, illustrated through a series of missed meet-cutes.
