Google Cloud has appointed Jennifer Ligones (pictured) as country manager for the Philippines, as it sharpens its focus on supporting local organisations in their digital and AI transformation efforts.

Ligones will lead Google Cloud’s go-to-market strategy and operations in the country, overseeing both Google Cloud and Google Workspace. She will report to Mark Micallef, managing director for Southeast Asia at Google Cloud.

A veteran of the tech industry, Ligones brings more than 30 years of experience to the role. She was most recently president and CEO of Third Pillar, an IT consultancy she founded in 2013. Under her leadership, the firm supported the digital transformation of over 100 Filipino companies. She has also held senior roles at SAP, SAS, and IBM.

“Jennifer joins us at an exciting phase of Google Cloud’s growth in the Philippines, where we’ve been collaborating with businesses of all sizes, enabling them to harness industry-leading platform services, such as Vertex AI, Google Agentspace, and BigQuery, to accelerate AI innovation, boost their competitiveness, and unlock new revenue opportunities," said Micallef.

He added, "With her strong business acumen, technical foundation, and passion for fostering growth among Filipino companies, Ligones will play a pivotal role in advancing our local private and public sector engagements, helping more organisations thrive in a digital economy that’s projected to be worth up to US$150 billion by 2030."

Commenting on her new role, Ligones said, "I look forward to expanding our local team and partner ecosystem to advance Google Cloud’s growth ambitions in the Philippines. Together, we can increase the scope and scale of our collaborations with the government and businesses."

"Our goal is to drive deeper understanding and adoption of unique Google Cloud capabilities that address companies’ full spectrum of AI innovation needs," she added.

Her appointment comes as Google Cloud continues to invest in enterprise AI enablement. The company recently launched new Gemini 2.5 Flash and Pro models on Vertex AI, open-sourced its Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol via the Linux Foundation, and rolled out a generative AI certification aimed at non-technical professionals.

In the Philippines, the cloud provider counts organisations such as Alfamart, Chooks-to-Go, FWD Insurance, Globe Telecom, Kumu, PLDT, Primer Group, SM Supermalls, St. Luke's Medical Center, and Tonik Bank among its clients. Government agencies including DepEd, DOH, and DENR have also adopted its cloud solutions, according to a statement seen by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

Ligones joins a growing Southeast Asia leadership team under Micallef, which includes country directors and managers across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Earlier this year, Google Cloud named Hana Raja as country manager for Malaysia. According to her LinkedIn profile, Raja brings over 16 years of experience and has held leadership roles at Cisco and Bain & Company. While at Cisco, she served as managing director for Malaysia and led strategy and operations across Southeast Asia.
