Philippines-based GIGIL has opened a new office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, expanding its international presence beyond New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto, and bringing world-class creative solutions grounded in local culture and consumer insight.
GIGIL Phnom Penh aims to fuse international creative thinking with an intimate understanding of Cambodian consumers. The office is led by Joef Pena (pictured, left) as country head, bringing more than 29 years of experience in brand and marketing communications, including nearly 20 years in Cambodia.
“Our vision is to enable brands in Cambodia to access the same level of creativity and effectiveness that has earned GIGIL recognition on the global stage, while keeping the work grounded in authentic Cambodian culture,” said Pena.

Pena has held senior leadership positions across Cambodia’s largest agencies, multinational networks including JWT Manila and FCB, and major Cambodian businesses. His portfolio includes campaigns for leading brands such as Smart Axiata, Samsung, Tiger Beer, ABC Beer, ABA Bank, J Trust Royal Bank, ANZ Royal Bank, Ganzberg, Coca-Cola, and Danone.
GIGIL emphasised its goal of unlocking the creative potential already present in Cambodia while introducing “a fresh approach to advertising that entertains, engages, and delivers measurable results” - a formula that has benefited clients such as Netflix, Grab, and Jollibee across its other offices.
“We’re excited to partner with brands in the country and prove that creativity rooted in Cambodia can compete with the best in the world,” said Jake Yrastorza (pictured, right), managing partner of GIGIL Global.
With its Phnom Penh office, GIGIL strengthens its presence in Southeast Asia, drawing on eight years of expertise. Headquartered in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Philippines, the agency serves clients across Asia-Pacific and North America.
