Geometry Global phases out PR arm in Malaysia

Geometry Global Malaysia has phased out its PR arm, transitioning its clients to other agencies under WPP, a spokesperson from the agency confirmed to A+M. Eight individuals comprising four permanent and four contract employees were impacted."The first objective of this transition is to serve our PR clients better. We are fortunate to have fellow WPP partners with PR expertise and a global network. Also, all of us recently moved to a new WPP Campus, making the transition easier. This is also our winning formula in driving horizontality across WPP expert partners," the spokesperson said. The move is also to allow Geometry Global to focus on its key offerings - brand experience, activation, shopper marketing, digital and social, and CRM. This is because the agency sees "increasing" client interest and growth opportunities in these areas. "For clients and Geometry, this is a win-win transition for everyone," the spokesperson added. The PR arm was previously led by managing director Vivian Tan, who left to take on the role of GM, corporate communications and CSR at Hong Leong Bank, according to her LinkedIn. She was with the agency for close to eight years, during which she led a team of 15 consultants, overseeing the agency's total operation and management. Among the list of clients she managed included Tiger, Heineken, Strongbow, Hennessy, P&G, Nissan and the Maybank Malaysian Golf Open, among others. She reported to CEO Kenny Loh.Earlier this year, Geometry Global unveiled a new brand identity which applies to its  56 markets around the world – 19 cities in Asia Pacific. This was in a bid to reflect the changes it has gone through as an agency since its launch in 2013. The new identity was created in-house by the Geometry team in Hamburg, Germany and includes a new logo word mark and monogram. The new identity was also designed with a vibrant new colour palette and a set of symbols that represents “diverse disciplines and expertise coming together to solve problems”.Read also:Meet the CEOs: Geometry Global’s Kenny LohGeometry bolsters Malaysia team with new hiresGeometry Malaysia appoints Michael Fillon as ECDDigi picks Geometry Global Malaysia to handle below-the-line marketingBrand experiential architect: What does the job even mean?Former Havas Singapore GM David Tay heads to Geometry Global Indonesia
