Former OMD Malaysia managing director Mayank Bhatnagar (pictured) has joined Madison Media as its news chief client officer.

According to media reports, he will be leading the agency's South operations and drive strategic growth for the business and its clients in the region.

Commenting on his appointment, Bhatnagar said that the industry is shifting from capability-led growth to outcome-led partnerships. He added that his focus will be on deepening client relationships, building strong teams and ensuring they deliver measureable impact.

His appointment also comes alongside a slew of other leadership appointments at the India-based media agency, including Karan Rao as VP, content and influencer marketing; and Dinesh Rathod as the lead for its sports vertical.

Bhatnagar exited OMD Malaysia in December 2025, with Anwer Khan stepping into the role shortly after. The leadership transition came amid the ongoing integration of the global Omnicom-IPG merger, following Omnicom’s restructuring announcement after its US$13.3 billion acquisition on 1 December.

His exit also followed the departure of Winnie Chen-Head, former CEO of Omnicom Media Group (OMG) Malaysia, as the reins were handed over to Darren Yuen from IPG Mediabrands Malaysia. Effective May this year, Chen-Head is now the new Malaysia CEO for WPP Media

Bhatnagar had been leading OMD Malaysia's overall operations since November 2021, having been in the role for over four years.  Before that, he was in Mumbai leading Carat’s national digital integration as executive VP, head of west and south.

Prior to that, he headed the DAN Mondelez unit dedicated in managing the Mondelez India account. Bhatnagar also held roles in Mindshare Malaysia, Lodestar Universal in Mumbai and Zenith Media Singapore.

He had also been a business director at Madison Media based in Mumbai, India from 2006 for two years, managing media planning, buying and account operations for the Godrej account.
