Converse Philippines is sticking close to its musical roots in their newest awareness campaign by launching the company’s first local battle-of-the-bands competition. The Converse Get Loud Campaign was rolled out this month centered around creativity and the rock-and-roll culture that have been synonymous to Converse for decades.“Converse and music are inseparable. Especially its iconic sneaker the Chuck Taylor All Star, it has always been the sneaker of choice for many musicians as it is a badge of self-expression, “ Converse stated.Converse combed through hundreds of unsigned bands on ground and on YouTube to choose five outstanding acts that will compete for the top prize of P150,000 worth of cash and products. The awareness campaign is supported online via Facebook where fans can vote for their picks starting 7 October. Around 20% of the band's final score depends on fan votes. To generate social buzz around the brand further, fans are invited to upload videos and photos showing off their Chuck Taylors and their band of choice to earn two points per entry. The most creative video and photo get the chance to win limited edition Converse gifts. The five bands that will complete at the Get Loud Finals on 9 November are Even from North Luzon, Brisom from NCR, Kissbone from South Luzon, Bethany from Cebu and Jad Montenegro from Mindanao. The campaign is on the heels of Converse's recently launched in-store  “Punk Your Chucks” activations which lets customers personalize their Chucks, Cons, or Jack Purcells with markers, paints, beads, sequins and studs for free.
