BBDO Indonesia names Vaishali Sarkar CEO

BBDO Indonesia has appointed Vaishali Sarkar (pictured) to the role of CEO. Prior to the move, Sarkar was managing director for Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, Indonesia. She takes over from former managing director Intan Mokhnar who departs to pursue new interests, according to the agency. Sarkar will be commence her role on 25 September 2017.Sarkar spent her first 16 years in the industry at OgilvyOne India, and the last decade in Indonesia. According to BBDO's press statement, she has been instrumental in building profitable business units that include OgilvyOne, Soho Square and most recently Ogilvy Advertising. The last decade has seen her bring about significant growth and success for the Indonesia agency, and she has been at the helm of multi-channel campaigns for both local and global brands.The statement added Sarkar's appointment signals a new era of leadership for the agency and given her extensive market knowledge and integrated background, she will help shape the next chapter of BBDO Indonesia’s success.“I’m really excited about joining the BBDO family at a time when the need for media neutral marketing is growing in Indonesia.
