Ogilvy Indonesia has appointed Andrew Low (pictured) as its new executive creative director, a move that signals a sharpened creative intent for the network’s Jakarta office. The appointment marks Low’s return to the Ogilvy fold, nearly five years after his departure from the agency’s Beijing office in November 2020.
Low takes over a role previously held by Peter Hibberd and reports directly to Ogilvy Indonesia’s chief creative officer (CCO), Patrick Knowlton.
Entering one of Southeast Asia’s most competitive creative landscapes, he brings a clear focus: “To raise the creative bar [and] quality of Ogilvy Indonesia, as well as developing the creative talent here,” Low told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

Recently, Low served as group CCO at dentsu Malaysia, where he was credited with streamlining production capabilities and managing cornerstone accounts such as Petronas.
Low’s return to Ogilvy is a full-circle moment. Long before his stint with dentsu, he spent over seven years at Ogilvy Malaysia, where he steadily rose through the creative ranks. He then helped revive Leo Burnett Malaysia’s fortunes and built awarded campaigns for McDonald’s, Maxis, and Lazada.
At Ogilvy China, he helped spearhead the agency’s creative evolution, racking up accolades for immersive, tech-forward work with clients such as Huawei. Now, as he brings that transformation playbook to Ogilvy Indonesia, Low also hopes to inject fresh energy into the agency’s creative culture.
“Indonesia and China are two different worlds,” Low noted. “The contrasts and cultures are unique to each country. What I hope to bring to Indonesia is this new energy and creative spirit that is building on Patrick’s success.”
Asked about his priorities in Jakarta, Low’s response was simple: “The priority is and has always been about the people - our talent first... We start from there.”
