ZUS Coffee is expanding beyond beverages with ZUS Mart, a new concept store bringing its coffee mixes, merchandise and lifestyle products together at MyTOWN Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Announced through a newly created Instagram account, @zus.mart, the store is described by the brand as its first-ever concept store. Located on the ground floor beside a ZUS Coffee outlet, it is scheduled to operate from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027.

The store offers ZUS Coffee products beyond its freshly prepared beverages, including ZUS Signature Mixes, lifestyle essentials and exclusive merchandise. Its assortment also features drinkware and other branded products, giving customers a dedicated space to shop for the brand’s merchandise and at-home coffee offerings.

According to ZUS Coffee when A+M reached out, the sub-brand was created to cater to customers seeking more accessible ways to enjoy its coffee beyond its outlets.

MyTOWN Shopping Centre was selected as the first location because of its accessibility to ZUS Coffee's customer community, the brand said.

The concept also offers services not available at its existing outlets, including full drinkware customisation. Customers can customise their tumblers with different boots, bodies, lids and cup sleeves, as well as have them engraved. These services are also available through ZUS Coffee's online store.

In celebration if its opening, Zus Mart is offering fans bundle deals on drinkware and coffee products, a free blind box for qualifying purchases, a Malaysia-themed merchandise bundle and a buy-five-get-one-free offer on selected ZUS Signature Mixes.

In addition, ZUS Coffee said ZUS Mart remains in its early stages, with the brand focused on growing the concept while continuing to offer accessible, high-quality products to its coffee community.

It did not disclose specific sales or growth targets.

The move builds on ZUS Coffee’s broader interest in merchandise as a way to keep the brand top of mind between purchases.

Speaking at DMA Malaysia earlier this month, ZUS Coffee group CEO Venon Tian said the business began exploring merchandise after observing how other coffee brands had expanded into the category.

Tian said merchandise such as branded tumblers and water bottles could help strengthen brand recall and encourage customers to return to ZUS Coffee outlets.

With ZUS Coffee operating a network of around 900 stores across Malaysia, Tian said the brand had an opportunity to turn that familiarity into repeat purchases.

He also noted that marketing merchandise requires a somewhat different approach from the food and beverage business, with ZUS continuing to refine its strategy for the category.

ZUS has previously incorporated merchandise into its marketing campaigns, including its “ZUS BUDDY: Work in Progress” campaign in June, which paired food and drinks with collectible figurines across five Southeast Asian markets. In August, it also teamed up with Mamee Monster for a Merdeka collaboration spanning drinks, snacks and limited-edition merchandise.
