Zeno Group has named John Kerr as its first chief digital officer (CDO). The role will be an addition to his continued leadership of the firm’s fast-growing Asia Pacific network. Kerr continues to report to Zeno CEO Barby K. Siegel.
In this newly created role, Kerr will lead Zeno’s efforts to globalise its digital strategy and offerings, by expanding its current capabilities, and increasing the depth and breadth of client engagements. Kerr’s 20-year career has spanned several positions in seven countries in the areas of communications, interactive and brand marketing. In the new role, Kerr will remain based in Singapore.
“Kerr is a recognised thought leader in the social-digital space; over the last several years, he has effectively led the development of a highly differentiated and acclaimed digital capability for Zeno across Asia,” said Siegel.
“The ways in which people interact with online platforms, their expectations from content, and how brands fit in the conversations are continuously changing at an ever-increasing pace. Kerr’s appointment reflects our ambition to strengthen our position as the agency partner that consistently brings forward innovation, disruption and measurable business value to our clients, through transformative digital and integrated communications.”
Kerr said, “We will leverage Zeno’s strengths to deliver against this need – one P&L, our global footprint, a bias for partnership and unparalleled collaborative culture. Our inherent strengths, relative size and leadership ambition will continue to attract the best and brightest digital talent to join us.”
Examples of recent innovative digital work at Zeno include: the planning and deployment of a state-of-the-art digital command-center, multiple social-led integrated global campaigns, leading global social media strategy and content creation, and driving unprecedented sales via social couponing for a hospitality brand.
