YouTube highlights 10 ads APAC consumers were watching in April

Google has unveiled the top YouTube ads watched by the APAC audience in April 2019. The ads range from markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, India and Australia.The spots also have unique characteristics and highlight more social issues. These include privacy protection, General Elections, appreciating Mother Nature and others. On the topic of unique ads, Google said that an interesting point to note was, some of April’s winning ads tapped on the power of lighting to tell stories that incite immediate emotional impact, and create lasting impressions.Citing Hyundai Australia and Sega Japan which can be seen below, the team at Google highlighted both ads’ set neon tones against a dark canvas to highlight the products, while stirring up an atmosphere of excitement and energy. “To capture attention and resonate with viewers, the play on visuals first forms the foundation for making any ad come alive,” Google said.Here’s a quick countdown of the ads:10. Apple Singapore – Privacy on iPhoneApple Singapore clinched the 10th spot of the leaderboard in April. With its “Privacy on iPhone” ad, the spot showcases individuals indulging in hushed conversations and also preferring personal space in a public area. Apple highlights the necessity of privacy for most people as it unveils the privacy functions in its smartphone. Easypaisa – Get Zong’s Super Weekly Plus Offer From The Easypaisa App!Pakistan’s mobile payment company Easypaisa introduces its new app that comes with an offer for users. The ad shows a photographer taking shots of a model and uploading the images through the Easypaisa mobile app. She also receives instant approval through the client. Cherifer Vitamins – Let’s Vitamins!Cherifer Vitamins, from the Philippines, rolls out an ad to promote its vitamins and highlight the benefits of consuming it. The spot features five individuals ranging from a young kid to an adult singing and dancing to the song about Cherifer’s vitamins. Dumex Dugro – Kisah Dugro BuddiesThe Dumex Dugro’s musical series titled “Kisah Dugro Buddies” was in collaboration with Rouge by Entropia. Apple – Shoot with iPhone XS – Who will fight against Mother Nature, WhoUnveiled in Korea, the ad by Apple takes viewers on a journey about Mother Nature. SEGA Japan – “Mega Drive Mini” introduction videoJapanese video game company SEGA rolled out an ad to introduce its “Mega Drive Mini” console. With a quick comparison of its older console, SEGA unveils the latest console against fast-paced tune and a voice over highlighting the key features. T-Series – Har Ghoont Mein SwagWith over 115 million views, this video uploaded by T-Series in India features Bollywood celebrities Disha Patani and Tiger Shroff.The spot reveals a new Hindi song by composer Badshah. In the video description, T-Series lists various ways for fans to activate the song as caller tunes. GOJEK Indonesia – Tata Cara Pemilihan Umum, Bersama Jo & Jek!With over 23 million views for this spot, GOJEK Indonesia has made it to the third spot. The ad brings viewers around the required procedures for the recently-concluded General Elections in Indonesia. Too Faced Makeup PartyFeaturing Hong Kong actress Roxanne Tong and Canto-pop singer Joey Wong, Estée Lauder’s Too Faced brand rolled out its new cosmetics. The two Hong Kong stars were clad in pink glittery dresses and showcasing the new product. The make-up products used on both Tong and Wong were displayed in the ad description. Hyundai | Introducing Kona ElectricTo introduce its 100% electric small SUV – Kona Electric in Australia, Hyundai launched an ad featuring the new car.
