Your friendly neighbourhood airline? Scoot launches Spider-Man-themed flights

Scoot has partnered with Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day to launch a movie-themed travel experience across two of its aircraft.

The campaign, which runs until 13 September 2026, will see Spider-Man appear across an Airbus A321neo and a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, bringing the superhero-themed experience to short-, medium- and long-haul flights.

As part of the collaboration, the themed aircraft will feature exterior decals, special headrest covers and music from Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Travellers can also receive exclusive merchandise, including a flight tag or foldable eco bag as a gift with purchase on board.

The inaugural themed flights will be operated by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Tokyo Haneda on 30 June 2026, followed by the Airbus A321neo to Chiang Mai on 1 July 2026.

After that, the aircraft will be rostered on selected flights to cities in Australia, China, Japan, the Philippines and Thailand. Scoot said the aircraft may also be deployed on other routes as part of regular airline operations, meaning some customers may unexpectedly find themselves on one of the themed flights.

The Spider-Man experience will also extend to Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1, where installations will be set up at Scoot’s check-in counters.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day, bringing our customers a truly immersive and memorable travel experience,” said Calvin Chan, chief commercial officer, Scoot.

“Beyond our continual efforts to deliver quality service and value, this collaboration demonstrates Scoot’s commitment to constantly push boundaries and look for innovative ways to delight our customers,” he added.

The themed flights will be labelled on Scoot’s website, mobile app and WeChat Mini Program for booking. Flight schedules for the themed aircraft will also be published on Scoot’s website, subject to government and regulatory approvals or changes.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks a new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man following the global success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo.

The collaboration also follows a growing trend of airlines using pop culture partnerships to turn flights into branded fan experiences. In 2024, AirAsia teamed up with SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog for a themed Airbus A330 featuring Sonic and characters such as Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose and Shadow, with the aircraft taking to the skies across the region. Scoot’s Spider-Man tie-up similarly taps into the appeal of entertainment-led travel, using character IP to create shareable moments beyond the standard flight experience.
