YE Live in Jakarta to showcase Indonesia's creative economy ecosystem

Indonesia is positioning YE Live in Jakarta as an opportunity to strengthen its creative economy ecosystem, with the government highlighting the international concert’s potential to build industry capabilities and create opportunities for local talent.

The concert, organised by Raw Vision Collective (RVC), will take place on 24 October 2026 at Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium. It marks YE’s first performance in Indonesia and is the only Southeast Asian and Oceania stop confirmed on his tour this year, according to RVC.

Speaking after meeting RVC on 14 September, creative economy minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said international concerts could provide local workers, vendors, creators, designers, musicians and other creative talent with exposure to global production standards.

“We want to see international concerts not only as performances, but as part of the process of upskilling and upscaling the creative economy ecosystem. Those involved are not simply working on a production, but also gaining experience with international standards. This is where the capacity, professionalism and competitiveness of creative industry players can be strengthened as they contribute to delivering a global-scale creative stage,” said Harsya.

He also described the concert as a potential opportunity for creative entrepreneurs to expand their capabilities, while stressing that the impact should extend beyond the audience attending the show.

“This is a golden moment for creative industry players, including creative entrepreneurs looking to level up. The spirit should not be limited to those attending the concert, but should extend beyond the stadium. This is where storytelling and collaboration become important in inspiring all parties. The opportunity is there. It depends on how we see it and make use of this global moment,” he added.

RVC’s marketing and communications lead Karen Tjahja said the show has already attracted interest from audiences outside Indonesia, with fans travelling from Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand.

“The Jakarta show would mark YE’s first performance in Indonesia, while making the city the only confirmed stop in Southeast Asia and Oceania on his tour this year,” Tjahja said.

“We want to offer a different show experience through the globe stage, a 360-degree stage concept that places audiences at the centre of the concert experience and allows them to enjoy the performance from all sides.”

RVC said it hopes the ministry’s support for the show will also potentially create longer-term collaborations between international entertainment players and local creative talent.

YE, formerly known as Kanye West, is currently on his 2026 YE Live Concert Tour, a global run supporting his latest album, Bully.
