BLACKPINK brings HK culinary flavours to life during concert

K-Pop sensation BLACKPINK bringing Hong Kong's culinary flavours to life at its final tour stop at Kai Tak Stadium, with its member Rosé sampling traditional snacks on camera.
Taking place from 24 to 26 January, BLACKPINK's “DEADLINE” world tour in Hong Kong at the 50,000-seat venue are sold out, with the concert kicking off with “Kill This Love” and featuring eye-catching outfits.
Adding a local flavour to the spectacle, BLACKPINK member Rosé continued her beloved tour tradition of sampling local snacks on camera. During Saturday’s concert, she delighted the crowd by trying Hong Kong's iconic egg waffles, her joyful expression capturing hearts after the first bite. On Sunday, she paid tribute to the city’s rich culinary heritage by sipping Hong Kong-style milk tea from a signature Black & White cup—an homage to the city’s intangible cultural legacy.

In fact, the concert has seen thousands of BLACKPINK fans queuing overnight to secure their spots in the venue's standing area, according to a check by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE on Threads. Some videos show the crowd jostling to enter the stadium on the first night of the band's three shows in the city, with shouts of "don’t push” and even screams heard. Meanwhile, another clip shows a security guard guiding a large crowd to the standing zone and maintaining order.

As part of the BLACKPINK concert, fans stepping out of Kai Tak MTR Station or Sung Wong Toi Station are immediately welcomed by a vibrant pink atmosphere. The area is adorned with fluttering BLACKPINK flags and heart-shaped stickers reading "BLACKPINK in your area", creating a festive entrance as if entering a pink paradise. An LED giant screen outside the Kai Tak Retail Complex displays pink-themed visuals for "DEADLINE", while massive BLACKPINK posters and pink lights along Kai Tak Sports Avenue dazzle the crowd.
BLACKPINK’s visit is the latest in a series of cultural crossovers between K-pop icons and Hong Kong. Last November, members of SEVENTEEN—Mingyu and Vernon—were invited by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) to explore the city’s vibrant nightlife after the group’s concerts at Kai Tak Stadium in late September.
Their evening began with a scenic cruise aboard an iconic junk boat, offering panoramic views of the glittering skyline along Victoria Harbour. The experience continued with a curated culinary journey featuring traditional Chinese dishes such as crispy Peking duck, a classic dim sum platter, and bespoke cocktails—all set against the breathtaking harbour backdrop.
Whether through food, fashion, or unforgettable performances, K-pop stars such as BLACKPINK and SEVENTEEN are embracing Hong Kong’s unique culture and sharing it with the world—one concert at a time.
