YDIGITAL Asia has brought on three new board members to guide the strategic direction of its regional expansion plans. Now in its fourth year, the digital growth agency has three offices in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, with plans to expand further in the region under way.
Joining Ydigital’s board of directors are Stephen Mangham, partner at ManghamGaxiola mcgarrybowen, Khoo Kar Khoon, chairman of GIGAGIGS SEA/Greater China, and Martin Bresson, managing partner at Rud Pedersen’s Brussels office.
“We are humbled that Mangham, Khoo and Bresson – three industry veterans with proven track records – believe in our vision and want to be part of our future. On our board we have extensive experience from both brand and agency sides, with whom we will create the future of results-driven advertising,” Ydigital Asia founders Boye Hartmann and Peter Haarmark said in a joint statement.
“The market is asking for a change that calls for greater transparency, relevancy and end-to-end partnerships. We’re going through exciting times, where the line between agency and consulting industries is rapidly blurring,” the founders said.
Mangham, who is currently the managing director at Dentsu’s manghamgaxiola mcgarrybowen also teaches integrated marketing communications at Singapore’s Nanyang Business School, said Ydigital Asia has a “fantastic team with great energy on an exciting journey. Looking forward to passing on experiences from my 15 years in Asia and 30 years in advertising.”
Mangham’s previous experience includes group chairman at Ogilvy Singapore, managing director at Ogilvy and Mather Advertising Taiwan, and regional managing director for Central and Eastern Europe at Saatchi and Saatchi.
Khoo, a veteran and active player in Malaysia’s advertising scene, said: “Having been on the brand side it’s a great challenge to be working on the agency side with a team that takes a different approach. Hopefully my experiences can help steer the strategy in a direction that puts the client at heart.”
Khoo was one of the key founders of Zenith Media, the first media specialist in Malaysia. He was also the President and Advisor to the Malaysian Advertisers Association. Bresson, who was strategic advisor to clients and the leadership team at Brussels-based consultancy FleishmanHillard before joining Rud Pedersen, said he is “very excited about joining the Ydigital board – it’s a massively interesting niche company in a growth market with a solid and clever team. I’m looking forward to chipping in and sharing my experience in business strategy and execution.”
Bresson was International Affairs director at Denmark’s Ministry of Business and Growth prior to settling in Brussels and was later responsible for overseeing Denmark’s chairing of the European Union Presidency on financial services, market and industry policy issues.
