Yahoo's second Technostorm set for November

Yahoo's TechnoStorm tech portal comes to life for a second time in the Philippines via a consumer electronics expo to be held in November.TechnoStorm is the Internet giant’s attempt to bring online traffic to actual sales for their brand partners.  It debuted last year and was well received by consumers, bloggers and the media, calling it the country’s own Consumer Electronics Show (CES).Like the iconic CES held in the US, the product expo will showcase consumer technology brands including mobile phones, computers, laptops and cameras from a gamut of brands. Yahoo currently has Hewlett Packard, Sony, LG, Huawei, MyPhone, Globe, BDO, Sun Cellular, Blink and Paktor on board Technostorm.Content drives online as well as foot traffic. Instead of just the products, Yahoo invited tech experts to start talks and Q&As with visitors as a bonus for visiting the expo.Together with live demonstrations, Technostorm attempts to let experience close the sale and ultimately make both the portal and the annual event become a go-to source and shop for electronics.“Checking the latest news is an insatiable daily habit for millions of users online. With Technostorm we are trying to inspire this daily habit by offering a wide range of the most relevant content from the world of technology for our users. In addition, the on ground event will allow our users to make smarter decisions by actually experiencing these products in person,” says Mike Constantino, Yahoo! Philippines Country Sales Director.Technostorm, which is also now live on Yahoo News, will be held at the Glorietta Activity Center between 21 November and 24 November.
