WPP Media HK names new chief client and operating officer

WPP Media Hong Kong has appointed Adrian Lee (pictured) as chief client and operating officer, effective 13 April.

In this newly created role, Lee will report to Michael Beecroft, CEO, WPP Media North East Asia, and alongside Silas Ho, Lee will be responsible for strengthening client leadership while driving operational excellence across the Hong Kong business.

Lee joins WPP Media Hong Kong with a background spanning both agency and in-house leadership roles across Asia and Europe. He began his career at WPP in London, before holding senior digital and leadership roles across Jakarta and Hong Kong.

He later joined Dentsu, before returning to WPP in regional roles across Asia. Lee subsequently moved client-side to the South China Morning Post, where he led marketing transformation initiatives, before joining Manulife to build and scale a centralised APAC performance marketing function. Most recently, he has been advising organisations on capability building and operating model transformation.

Lee’s appointment also builds on WPP Media Hong Kong’s continued investment in talent as it strengthens its client leadership and performance capabilities. Recent hires include Human Lam, who joined as vice president, client leadership, as part of the agency’s broader focus on diversifying its solutions and evolving its business models to deliver more outcome‑driven work for clients.

The move comes as WPP builds on momentum from recent regional and global wins, including Sun Life’s APAC media mandate and Estée Lauder’s global media appointment, both supported out of Hong Kong.

Beecroft said Lee’s arrival reflects how the agency is preparing for its next phase of growth. “Hong Kong plays a critical role for WPP Media, not just as a local market, but as a hub for multi‑market and regional work, including China outbound,” he said. “Lee brings the right experience and perspective to help us connect strategy, modern media delivery and measurable performance outcomes as we continue to expand the scope and scale of what we do from Hong Kong.”

“I’m pleased to be returning to WPP at a time when the industry is undergoing fundamental change,” said Lee. “There is a clear opportunity to rethink how media drives growth, and I’m excited to work with the team in Hong Kong to help clients navigate this next phase.”
