Communications agency Alchemy has appointed Alvin Wong as its CEO while previous managing director Michael Liew has left the company.
Wong was previously the ECD of the agency and the appointment was made to coincide with the development of several new capabilities such as content creation, sports marketing and viral strategies.
Wong (pictured) will report to the board of directors and has been with the agency since 2005. He will be tasked with looking after the overall shift of the agency and its newest capabilities.
The agency also added new business wins to its roster with saw several wins around the regions of Indonesia and Laos, expanding Alchemy’s regional footprint.
According to Wong, because of the demands of the evolving media rich environment, the agency has “made some hard decisions to change its game.”
“We’ve invested in new management talent and new technology to bring us forward and to dominate,” he said.
“We’ve also managed to secure new long term contracts with our regular clients at Red Bull, APB Regional, and Vantage, which will give us a stable platform while we experiment in developing new capabilities.”
The agency was found in 2005 has a wide range of clients starting from Nets, Ben & Jerry’s Ford, Peugeot, Mont Blanc and others.
