Wipro Unza refreshes marcomms strategy for 2 brands with McCann Worldgroup MY

Wipro Unza has appointed McCann Worldgroup Malaysia's Mutiara Harrison to manage creative duties for its Dashing and Enchanteur brands. The appointment covers omni-channel brand and marketing communications for 2022 onwards. 

Five other agencies were vying for the account and the incumbent was Leo Burnett's Alpha 245. A+M understands that there is no end date to the appointment. Saki Goh, senior GM, marketing for Wipro Unza, told A+M that the brand found a good strategic partner in the team of Mutiara Harrison. "Mutiara Harrison have demonstrated very strong insights and innovative creative ideas that complement well with our business goals," she added.

Meanwhile, CEO of McCann Worldgroup, Sean Sim said the team is very excited to get started. "Both Enchanteur and Dashing are leading brands in the market, with very strong equity and positioning — the challenge is how we can push them up to another level," he explained.

According to him, the agency has to put a lot more resources behind this, not just in the area of design and retail marketing but also into analysing the micro-moments that drive purchase behaviour. The agency will now work closely with PHD, which was first appointed in 2019.

Meanwhile, Neil Hudspeth, CEO, Publicis Groupe Malaysia and global client lead, Asia Pacific told A+M that the agency declined to pitch for the business which was held in the fourth quarter last year. "We enjoyed our partnership and appreciated the trust that was given to us. The team wishes them well on their new journey," he added.
