Wego appoints new chief advertising & media officer

Wego, Asia Pacific and the Middle East’s leading travel search website, has appointed Rick Mulia as new chief advertising and media officer.

Mulia (pictured) returns to Wego and to Singapore, having previously developed the company’s audience engagement platform in 2013 along with the Wego private marketplace functions. He was also integral in furthering Wego’s extensive ad technology database which created opportunities intended to benefit clients with travel businesses.

Mulia returns to Singapore after relocating to Jakarta towards the end of 2014 to launch the Indonesian office of Twitter. He has also held various roles in MSN and Yahoo.

In his new role as chief advertising and media officer, Mulia will now be tasked with helming the company’s advertising and media endeavours on a global scale, managing both direct and programmatic sales. His focus is to make Wego and its audience data a must-have purchase for travel advertisers investing in direct performance or programmatic ad buying.

Wego’s CEO and co-founder Ross Veitch said, “I’m extremely pleased that Rick Mulia will be rejoining the leadership team at Wego and managing our fast growing advertising and media business. Mulia is a well-respected digital professional with a rare combination of technical, sales and managerial skills that make him the perfect choice to develop and deliver advertising solutions for Wego’s travel industry clients.”

Mulia said: ” In the time I’ve been away I’ve been highly impressed to see the company’s growth in emerging regions such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and in particular, explosive growth in their mobile audience. These are both a boon for the Ad Tech space where these types of audience data are in high demand.”
