Weber lures top digital talent for Asia role

UK digital talent Jon Wade has joined Weber Shandwick for an Asia-wide role as head of its digital communications practice.

Based in Hong Kong, Wade will provide regional leadership for Weber Shandwick’s Digital Communications practice across its 17-office Asia Pacific network. He reports directly to Baxter Jolly, Weber Shandwick’s vice chair for Asia Pacific.

Tim Sutton, Weber Shandwick’s Asia Pacific chairman, described Wade as a “leading light” in the European digital marketing scene.

He joins from WPP agency Wunderman, where he served as director of digital strategy. He holds more than 12 years of digital marketing experience and also sits on the Europe Board of Directors for the Mobile Marketing Association.

Sutton added that the PR agency is growing its digital practice across Asia. “This is a big step toward our goal of becoming a major player in the digital communications sphere in the region,” he said.
