Wearables go beyond the wrist at CES Asia

Wearable technology is no longer restricted to the confines of an activity tracker on a consumer’s wrist. In its second edition, the CES Asia will have more than 25 exhibitors to display the latest in wearable innovation in Shanghai.

“Wearables are one of the fastest growing areas of technology. They not only count our steps, they also track our mood, sleeping habits and even our pets,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, CES and corporate business strategy.

“The possibilities that surround this product category are endless and wearables are already transforming the way consumers live and operate entirely.”

New for 2016, Consumer Technology Association will host a conference session titled "Innovative Wearables" on 12 May at the Kerry Hotel. The panel will discuss the newest innovations coming to market, as well as the important considerations of user interface and design.

Key companies exhibiting wearables at CES Asia include: Garmin, Monster, Ximmerse, a wearables pavilion organised by China Electronic Chamber of Commerce and more.

The event will take place on 11-13 May at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
