Watsons is bringing fitness to TikTok this year and encouraging Malaysians to stay active anytime and anywhere, with its annual #WatsonsGetActive Move Your Body challenge. Originally an on-ground event with over 10,000 participants annually, the latest campaign had to adapt to the new normal of social distancing.
The latest campaign is fronted by Watsons ambassadors Ayda Jebat and Jinnyboy. To participate, Malaysian TikTok users can search for #WatsonsGetActive and submit an entry on the brand's website to receive RM10 Watsons points. Watsons is giving out a total of RM130,000 worth of prizes.
Caryn Loh, MD of Watsons Malaysia, said as a renowned brand among consumers, it is important for it to be socially responsible and remind everyone that a pandemic should not prevent them from staying healthy and active.
"With this challenge, which anyone can do from the comfort of their own home, office, or even parks, we hope that more Malaysians can participate and submit their entry. Our top priority should be to keep our immune systems strong, by doing regular physical activities, keeping a balanced diet, and consistently taking supplements to make our bodies healthier," Loh added.
Meanwhile, Entropia's partner Sourabh Agrawal, said amidst the pandemic, it had to evolve its content strategy and platform focus to ensure it is staying relevant to consumers.
"As this was our first creative campaign with Watsons, a TikTok challenge provided the perfect opportunity to involve the brand’s customers and engage them in a new way. The video-sharing app has steadily gained popularity in Malaysia and we wanted to capitalise on the platform’s power and virality potential," he explained.
