Volkswagen SG marketing lead Jamie Lee exits

Jamie Lee, general manager of marketing and communications, at Volkswagen Group Singapore is leaving the role, her last day being 10 August 2018. Prior to the move, she was with the group for around 12 years, and was in her current role for seven years.Lee (pictured) first joined the company in 2006 as a senior manager of marketing, and has also held a three-year stint as head of marketing strategy and communications with Volkswagen Group China. She has also held the position of marketing director for SEAT China with Volkswagen Group Import Co.In the interim, her roles and responsibilities will be taken over by Ricky Tay, managing director at Volkswagen Group Singapore, who will work in dual-capacity. He took on Lee’s portfolio on 1 August 2018.Following the move, he will be responsible for the marketing of both new and pre-owned Volkswagen passenger cars, Volkswagen commercial vehicles, and ŠKODA passenger cars in Singapore. This includes the full spectrum of marketing activities including customer relationship management, aftersales marketing, advertising and events management, as well as public relations, the statement added.Tay first joined the company as managing director for its Malaysia operations in 2011. He then took on the role of  group managing director for Volkswagen Group Import (China) from 2013 to 2015, overseeing the business for brands such as Bugatti, Lamborghini, Bentley, Volkswagen , Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle, SEAT and ŠKODA imported vehicles. He was also the managing director for mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau for Bentley Motors, according to his LinkedIn page.“Lee has been a keystone in our operations in Singapore, and she has constantly demonstrated the highest standard of marketing and communications. I thank her for her excellent work and dedication throughout her service, and wish her all the best in her future endeavours,” Tay said.
