VMLY&R Singapore's CEO Preethi Sanjeevi has moved on after 16 successful years with the network to launch her own digital venture, creating products and solutions outside the marketing space to solve global issues. Sanjeevi (pictured) was promoted to MD, Singapore in 2019 to replace Shirley Tay before being named to her current role. Prior to that, she was MD, content and campaigns at VMLY&R.

Sanjeevi said it has been a journey of 16 years, since joining VML (Qais) back in 2006 and a dream career with the agency. "I will always be grateful for the journey full of fantastic clients, learning, mentors who gave generously and most of all the life long friendships. Thank you for everything VMLY&R!" she said.

Hari Ramanathan, CEO of VMLY&R South and Southeast Asia and Japan, said, “VMLY&R Singapore is a flagship for the region and has gone from strength to strength under Sanjeevi’s leadership, she leaves it perfectly primed for its next stage of growth. We thank her for everything she’s contributed to the network’s growth over the past 16 years and wish her all the best with her new venture." MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Preethi for information about her new venture.

VMLY&R Singapore has seen a steady stream of business momentum over the years, landing the global account with Zespri and expanding its travel portfolio with Scoot. Already a regional hub for VMLY&R, the ongoing vision for Singapore is to deeply embed all the capability leads into the operations, ensuring that the office has the region's best to deliver for clients.

Hari Ramanathan, CEO of VMLY&R South and Southeast Asia and Japan, said that the agency will soon announce new leadership for the office under the new structure. The new structure is designed to continue supporting collaborative and dynamic work across the agency’s customer experience, brand experience and commerce teams and giving the employees housed in Singapore the chance to learn and grow with the best in the business and to provide solutions for their clients.

In recent months, Singapore’s investment into capability growth includes moving Saurabh Mathur, previously EVP - growth and innovation, India into the role of regional head – customer experience and head of experience – Singapore; and hiring Alex Tan as regional commerce director. Both Mathur and Tan will be based out of Singapore and lead growth in solutions for Singapore and regional clients.

Ramanathan said that in the coming months, its renewed and strengthened Singapore teams will continue to make an impact for its clients’ businesses, reiterating the agency's focus on commerce as the intersection point between business experience and customer experience.

Separately, Ramanathan was elevated to his current role in March this role amidst a leadership shuffle. Yi Chung Tay was named CEO of VMLY&R Asia while Tripti Lochan now helms the newly created role of global capability development officer, VMLY&R, based in Singapore.
