Virgin Atlantic Airways has appointed David Rose as head of its Asia Pacific operations, including Sydney, Hong Kong, Greater China and Japan.
He takes up his new role having served as the Shanghai-based Country Manager of China; his regional duties will now see him established in Hong Kong.
Rose joined Virgin Atlantic as a commercial strategy analyst and later went on to become a route revenue manager in the US.
Richard Myerscough, general manager for Virgin International said the new role was created to maximize the strengths of the Asia Pacific region and work more efficiently by bringing the markets together.
Speaking about his new post Rose said the travel industry continues to show fantastic growth in Asia Pacific and within the market there is a lot of change in the way people are learning about, considering and buying their holiday and business trips.
“Virgin Atlantic has a history of innovation in the sector and I look forward to continuing to deliver that with my teams across the region.”
