Unilever appoints new marketing director

Unilever Malaysia has appointed Herry Budiazhari Salim (pictured) as marketing director, taking over from Hugo Verkuil, who will head the company's Australia and New Zealand operation as VP and managing director.

Salim began his career nearly 20 years ago at Unilever Indonesia, where he gained wide experience in customer development, brand building and brand development.

More recently he has served as regional brand development director for Oral Care SEA, which has seen double digit growth in the past three years to become the biggest cluster of oral care globally.

"It's an exciting time to be joining Unilever Malaysia," he said.

"Malaysians are a growing voice on matters of health and wellness and sustainability; issues that are at the heart of Unilever's business."
