Tune Talk has appointed Jill Yeap (pictured) as its new head of marketing, tapping her 15 years of experience in strategic brand building and consumer engagement across the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

In her new role, Yeap will head the company's marketing team and report directly to Gurtaj Singh Padda, CEO of Tune Talk. She will be responsible for driving the brand’s creative direction, enhancing omnichannel engagement, and supporting Tune Talk’s transformation into a digital-first telco.

Yeap's portfolio includes leading campaigns for household names such as Dettol, Softlan, Ajax, Colgate, and Dutch Lady. Most recently, she was marketing manager at consumer goods giant Reckitt, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Known for her structured “diagnose, strategise, execute, evaluate” approach, she is credited with turning consumer insights into impactful brand strategies that combine commercial sense with creative storytelling. In a statement, Tune Talk said it looks forward to Yeap's leadership as it embarks on its next growth phase.

“I’m truly excited to join Tune Talk at such a dynamic point in its growth journey. The brand has always been bold, disruptive, and unapologetically different—and I can’t wait to bring that energy into how we connect with users and push creative boundaries,” Yeap said. 

Yeap’s appointment comes on the heels of Tune Talk’s launch of a new in-app feature, "Games and drama in Tune Talk app", making it the first telco in Malaysia to offer both streaming and gaming within its mobile application.

The feature allows users to stream dramas, play casual games, and earn rewards, all accessible exclusively through the Tune Talk app. The ‘Drama’ section offers a curated selection of streaming content, while the ‘Games’ section features instant-play titles that require no installation. Users earn ‘Tune Points’ through engagement, which can be redeemed to unlock content, remove ads, or access perks.

Prior to Yeap’s appointment, Tune Talk named Bernard Chong as its new chief marketing officer (CMO). Chong oversees the company’s marketing function along with its product, loyalty, and insights teams, while leading its transition from a mobile virtual network operator to a mobile network operator.

Chong brings extensive marketing experience from stints at foodpanda, SEEK, Citi, and Accenture. During his time as the marketing director for foodpanda, he led all marketing and partnership efforts and played a key role in establishing the food delivery brand’s presence in Malaysia.
