
CARSOME appoints new regional head of marketing

Malaysian online used car trading platform CARSOME, has appointed Lynn Dhia as its new regional head of marketing.
Most recently, Dhia was the lead, corporate communications and employer branding at Averis, a multinational global business services and solutions provider that specialises in finance and accounting, human resources, IT project and operation, shipping documentation and more, according to her LinkedIn. She was in the role for nearly three years.
Between 2019 to 2022, Dhia was the marcomm and digital lead at F&N Holdings, focusing on communications, marketing strategy and brand activation.

She also held two roles at AirAsia BIG Loyalty, as head of digital marketing for nearly two years, and as a social media manager for 11 months. Prior to that, Dhia was the acting head of marcomm at Berjaya Air from 2013 to 2015.
MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Dhia for comment.
Just last month under Dhia's leadership as regional head of marketing, CARSOME announced that it became the official automotive partner of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), under a two-year partnership worth almost RM2 million, according to checks by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.
This partnership with CARSOME aims to enhance FAM’s efforts in strengthening both the men’s and women’s national football teams as they prepare for another exciting season.
It also supports FAM’s efforts to elevate the sport’s regional presence by ensuring the national teams have the resources they need to compete at their best. For CARSOME, this collaboration is part of its efforts to nurture local talent and contribute to the broader development of Malaysian sports.
In March 2024, the company's chief marketing officer, Ravi Shankar, stepped down from the role after two years.
Shankar was responsible for branding, marketing, growth, and customer experience across the region in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines.
Ravi told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE at the time, "I had a great time at CARSOME. I’m moving on to a new challenge that will allow me to expand on AI-powered marketing on a larger scale." Following his stint at CARSOME, he moved on to become the CMO of AirAsia MOVE.
