TUGU Insurance launches AI-enabled app for agents and policyholders

Indonesian insurance provider TUGU Insurance has launched the "tdrive" mobile app to deliver a seamless brand experience to its agents and customers. Developed by Singapore-based insurtech company Zensung, the app leverages artificial intelligence and Internet of Things to prevent and reduce fraudulent claims.

The app is currently available for TUGU Insurance's auto insurance products, but plans to expand it to other verticals such as travel, medical and home insurance are in the pipeline. While enabling agents and policyholders to buy insurance and submit their claims digitally, the app also aims to help them understand potential risks.

According to a press release, tdrive includes functions to promote safe driving and drivers safety as well as carbon footprint awareness for drivers and organisations. Additionally, it uses a predictive modelling system to bring more transparency into premium pricing. The partnership with Zensung is part of TUGU Insurance's "Reaching New Heights" brand transformation strategy over the past two years. The firm is working to grow its preferred segments, and help people live a better life.

In a statement to Marketing Interactive, Zensung CEO and founder Amod Dixit said the company is the first to introduce a B2B2C platform in Indonesia. Driving more downloads with gamification features, tdrive has amassed over 28,000 downloads within a few months.

TUGU Insurance CEO Indra Baruna said the app is part of the company's efforts to redefine auto insurance and build innovative insurance offerings in Indonesia. "Leveraging our joint digital capabilities, we will provide a differentiated customer experience and address insurance agents’ needs. Zensung shares our ambition in becoming the best partner in customers’ life journey," he explained.

Dixit added: “Adding an AI-based agent offering will ensure that we keep our customers ahead in their business, empowering them to stay in control and in line with their growing business demands." Telematics policies such as "Pay As You Drive" will be rolled out in November 2019.
