Triple win for Scoot at Marketing Excellence Awards Singapore

High-flying Scoot landed a hat trick at the fifth Marketing Excellence Awards in Singapore tonight being named Marketer of the Year for the third consecutive year in front of over 500 marketers.

The budget carrier was presented with three gold awards (Excellence in Performance Marketing, Excellence in Viral Marketing, Excellence in Digital Marketing).

It also won six silver (Excellence in Data-Driven Marketing, Excellence in Consumer Insights/Market Research, Excellence in Brand Awareness, Excellence in Content Marketing/Native Advertising/Branded Content, Excellence in Customer Engagement and Excellence in Social Media Marketing) and four bronze (Excellence in Media Strategy, Excellence in TV/Video Advertising, Excellence in Search Marketing and Excellence in Direct Marketing)  putting them well ahead of the competition, who were also gathered at Shangri-La Hotel to witness the year's leading campaigns.

The multiple campaigns that saw Scoot over the line included the mobile focused "Scoot Mobile Warfare", a social media battle between social media influencer communities SGAG and SMRT Feedback for the most app downloads within their audiences. There was also a campaign that saw Scoot partnering with Tourism Western Australia to grow interest in travelling to Perth among Singaporeans as well as a campaign maximising Scoot’s digital and social media data called the “Scoot Data Multiplier.”

The Ministry of Communications and Information was the runner up in 2016 taking home an impressive haul of four gold (Excellence in Integrated Marketing (Consumer), Excellence in Government Sector Marketing, Excellence in Print Advertising and Excellence in Brand Awareness); two silver (Excellence in Government Sector Marketing and Excellence in Viral Marketing) and one bronze (Excellence in Content Marketing/Native Advertising/Branded Content) for campaigns focused on the issues of humanising foreigners and retirement.

There were many high scoring brands that impressed the jury such as McDonald’s, National Council of Social Services, Audi and OCBC Bank.

In 2016 the judging panel included over 25 experts from leading brands such as L'Oreal, DBS, Cotton On, Challenger, Disney and many more who determined the recipients of over 100 trophies across 33 categories.
