The Malay Mail has announced its new community and city newsmagazine called The Weekly Runner.
"The publication will cover weekly news highlights, community happenings, arts and culture, entertainment, motoring, sports, health and wellness, home and living, among others, to provide readers an enriching weekend reading experience," said Dato Siew Ka Wei, managing director of Redberry Group.
The newsmagazine is targeted at English-literate PMEBs and college/university students, and 200,000 free copies will be distributed around the Klang Valley every Friday.
To appeal to advertisers, The Weekly Runner will provide platform for creative buys and a dual-platform opportunity designed to enhance brand messages. It is also offering introductory packages to advertisers by giving one advertisement in The Malay Mail for every advertisement purchased in The Weekly Runner.
The Weekly Runner will be promoted via social media, radio ads and other media assets within the Redberry Group.
The new publication is spearheaded by editor-in-chief Anthea De Lima, who will be working with a team of six.
The inaugural issue will be available at convenient stores, hotels, educational institutions, hypermarkets, office buildings, train stations and shopping malls beginning 11 October.
Group commercial director Rajish Verron, told A+M, that The Weekly Runner will be audited sometime early next year.
