Telekom Malaysia (TM) has called for creative and media pitches. According to the tender on its website, the creative pitch involves below the line (BTL) duties. The two tenders added that TM is looking to appoint a panel of agencies for the respective creative and media duties. Additionally, TM also launched a tender for agency partners.
In a statement to A+M, TM’s spokesperson said it is an open pitch and the incumbents for BTL are CD Advertising, PTS Advertising, Fat Boys, FM Media and Ova.
Last year, TM picked GroupM Malaysia’s m/SIX as the lead agency for unifi, managing media planning and buying duties. It also worked closely with Grey and Y&R for ATL duties. In 2017, it selected DNA COMM as the above the line communications agency for unifi.
The move comes as Maxis is currently in the midst of its integrated pitch, with incumbent IPG Mediabrands, Dentsu Aegis Network, Publicis and Team WPP vying for the account.
Separately, TM’s enterprise and public sector business solutions arm, TM ONE, recently launched a new data centre to serve Malaysia’s digital needs. Through the Twin Core Data Centre, TM ONE aims to position itself as a comprehensive information and communication technology services provider, delivering value added services on top of the data centre facility service.
It also partnered PETRONAS Dagangan to upgrade PETRONAS stations nationwide with the next generation network infrastructure. Late last year, TM named COO Imri Mokhtar to the role of acting group CEO, replacing Datuk Bazlan Osman who resigned.
